In other news The Kitten Of Doom (Shadow) got herself shut in next door's wheelie bin, whence she was rescued by Mme. Next time she tried to follow us down the street her brother jumped on her and herded her back inside. Well done Dougal!

Absolutely! But you would have to be very certain. It's a 2nd-order DE of the type we used to do in Specialist, because you're probably going fast enough to have dv/dt = gsintheta - kv - lvsquared. And you would want to do several measurements to get the constants right! Not to mention (a) wind fluctuations and (b) making damn sure your departure down the slide is exactly parallel.

I love the way the spectators are excited about the success but the guy who did the sliding seems nonplussed. He's probably in shock that he didn't die.
